Growing prosperity creates growing demand for mobility of people and goods especially in urban areas. At the same time, urban areas have limitations concerning accommodating the increased mobility demand in terms of increasing road and parking infrastructure.
Moreover, congestion problems, mostly present in and around urban areas, cost the European countries nearly 100 billion Euro, or 1% of the EU's GDP, every year. Added to this is the cost of pollution and concerns about urban road safety.
Sustaining the mobility needs of the European citizen whilst tackling the negative effects of transport will be a real challenge for European cities in the next decade.

The In-Time pilot project has implemented and deployed an open ICT solution facilitating the access to local data via a common B2B interface based on several ITS standards. The pilot project will finish in March 2012, but the In-Time service will continue on an independent basis.
How can In-Time be applied to other cities? What are the costs and benefits? What makes In-Time special?

Recently urban freight transport has become an important social issue in terms of the increasing level of traffic congestion, negative impacts on the environment, traffic safety and accidents as well energy consumption. The situation is getting worse due to currents trends in supply chain organisation (e.g. just in time delivery, fragmentation of loads) which have led to an exponential increase in the number of freight emissions, especially for small parcels that are often carried by empty transport vehicles.
This webinar explains new concepts for sustainable city logistics, taking advantage of the state of the art ITS technologies and new vehicles solutions.

A successful model for urban freight delivery should take into account many factors, including local policy, environmental and societal considerations. This approach, as taken by the FREILOT pilot and the COSMO project, aims to increase energy efficiency of urban freight by supporting cooperation between city authorities and fleet operators through the use of ITS.
This webinar examines the needs and positions of city authorities and fleet operators, examining how a buisness model can be created leading to the continuation of ITS services after a pilot phase.

Cities face ever increasing demands on their transport systems, especially in developing regions with growing car ownership and rapid urban migration. To be able to deliver effective travel planning and implement the plans, a great amount of data on the usage of transport network is required. The challenge is to integrate data from various sources and owners in order to support real-time traveler information and long term planning, and to provide adaptable data exchange interfaces to connect a variety of entities needed for traveler information services.
This webinar will present an overview of the how Viajeo meets these challanges in the international sustainable mobility context of Europe, China and Brazil.

Two experts examine the cooperation needs for Field Operational Tests and elucidate on how these are tackled in the framework of the EC-funded activity FOT-Net. FOT-Net has been in place for almost three years as the networking platform for stakeholders involved or interested in FOTs. While the focus to date has mainly been on building up the FOT network and promoting the FESTA methodology, the next phase will explicitly address issues raised by the FOT network which need common European positions. Specifically the FESTA methodology will be further refined, based on recent FOT experiences.

Pre-Commercial Procurement (PCP) is a method for public purchasers to finance the development of ground-breaking solutions to a problem, in view of future commercial procurement of large volumes of end products, when they have identified that the problem cannot be effectively and efficiently solved by a state-of-the-art solution.
PCP is based on the application of risk-benefit sharing according to market conditions. Whilst PCP has been supported by the European Commission as a tool to support innovation based on the needs of the public sector, it is still somewhat underutilised.
This webinar explains the benefits of PCP, and serves as a guide to understand the challenges of PCP for ITS. It can best be used in conjunction with the P3ITS Handbook: A Guide for PCP Actors.

Taking over the activities undertaken by the TMC Forum, the TPEG Forum and the German Mobile.Info project, TISA aims to synergise and add market-driven impetus to traffic and traveller information service development and deployment.
This webinar explain the workings of TISA in a "This is TISA" presentation covering the structure and working methods. The second part of the webinar will be a discussion about TISA's " current hot-topic": the changing landscape of broadcast delivery for TTI. The question about some channels being switched off without suitable replacements becoming available has to be addressed.

A major issue for road safety is the lack of real-time road safety information which could be used by road authorities and for Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS). The fact that solutions for providing access to such data, and especially to timely incremental updates thereof, hardly exist in Europe constitutes a major bottleneck in the data chain for large-scale exploitation of in-vehicle road safety applications. A viable solution would require commitment by road authorities to report and notify updates in a timely and standardised manner.
This webinar presents the ROSATTE solution to this challenge. The ROSATTE project aims to establish an efficient and quality ensured data supply chain from public authorities to commercial map providers with regards to safety related road content.
